Independent Film Festival, which will be held from 2 to 4 December

Dubai's audience
are promised a new screening for
'Mirrors of
Silence'
by Emirati film director Nawaf Al-Janahi. Invited by The Third Line
art gallery, the film will be screened on 26 November 2008 as part
of a film screening night organized by the gallery under the title
of Laila Emaratya (Emirati Night). The screening starts at 7pm at
the gallery in Dubai. Admission is free, and the invitation is open.

The screening of
the film comes after a successful tour around the world,
participating officially in 18 international film festivals, and
being the only film from the United Arab Emirates in a number of
them. The most recent film festivals were in USA, Italy, and
Lebanon.
"Total Capture of
the Soul", "Complete Poem", and "Pure Cinema", just few of many
sentences film critics used to describe
'Mirrors of
Silence', which is
about a very important issue that many people face in the
contemporary civilized society - the individual’s isolation in the
modern city. This made the film touch people’s hearts in all the
countries where it was screened, especially that it is full of
unique photographic images and offers great music, what makes it a

successful tour around the world. The acclaimed film will be
screened in Lebanon for the first time as it was selected in the
official short film competition of Beirut International Film
Festival, which will be held from 1 to 8 October 2008.

'Mirrors of
Silence'
by Emirati film director Nawaf Al-Janahi is still continuing its
successful tour around the world. The acclaimed film will be
screened internationally in three countries in the period between
August and October 2008, as it was selected in the official short
film competition in Washougal International Film Festival (USA), Salento International Film Festival (Italy), and Beirut
International Film Festival (Lebanon).
Nawaf Al-Janahi is
currently working on post production for his first feature film
entitled 'The Circle', which he completed shooting last March. The
film is expected to be ready towards the end of this year.

Watch out for the
performance of 'Alghawi' by Mohamed Alhammadi in the Dubai Festival
for Youth Theater 2008. In the stage play, Nawaf Al-Janahi is a
young man torn in a struggle between moralities, and selling one's
self in the time of hunger. The performance will take place on 18
August 2008, at 9pm, at the Culture & Scientific Association in Al
Mamzar (Dubai).

Films in Riyadh

After the
successful screening at the Saudi Film Competition which was held in
Dammam city, Nawaf Al-Janahi films ('Mirrors of
Silence',
'Souls', and
'On a Road') are hosted for another
screening in Riyadh by the Saudi Arab Society for Culture & Arts.
The screening will be on 25 June 2008 at 20:00 (KSA). Admission is
free and open to the public.

competition representing the UAE at the 2nd edition of The
International Arab Film Festival of Oran, which will be held in the

The first
screening for the film in Algeria was in April 2007, as it was part
of the UAE Cultural week in Algeria organized by the Ministry of

Fans of Emirati
actor and film director Nawaf Al-Janahi are promised a new
opportunity to watch three of his films:
'Mirrors of
Silence',
'Souls', and
'On a Road'. The films will be
presented to the audience in a screening entitled "Director in the
Spotlight" hosted by the first edition of Saudi Film Competition
which will be held in Al-Dammam city from 20 to 24 May 2008.
The screening
will be on Friday 23 May 2008 at 8:30pm in Al-Dammam Literary Club.

Festival 2008. The first is Ahmed Zain's 'Sea Shells', in which Al-Janahi
plays Hamad, a young man who fears the sea. The second is 'Hammer and
Nails', an animation short based on an idea by Al-Janahi, and
directed by Hamad Al-Awar.

will be screened on 27 February 2008 as part of a film screening

actor and film director Nawaf Al-Janahi are promised two new
screenings in UAE & Kuwait for his film
'Mirrors of
Silence'.
Al-Janahi is participating with the film in the inaugural edition of Prerana Film Festival which will be held in the Sharjah Institute
for Theatrical Art from 24 to 25 January 2008. In Kuwait, invited by
Kuwait Cinema Club, the film will be screened at Al-Shaab film
theater in "A Week of Films from the Gulf", an event organized by
the club in the period from 3 to 7 February 2008 as part of Al-Arabi
Magazine's 50th anniversary celebration.

has achieved continues international successes, as it was officially
selected in over 10 film festivals in the Middle East and Europe,
