Mirrors of Silence, by Emirati film director Nawaf Al-Janahi, continues achieving international successes, being officially selected in over 10 film festivals in the Middle East and Europe. In a number of these film festivals the film was the only participation selected from UAE. Now after its successful screenings in Russia and Spain, the film comes back to the Arab world to be screened in Iraq for the first time as it was officially selected in the 2nd edition of Baghdad International Film Festival, which will be held in the city of Baghdad from 26 to 29 December 2007.

:: 7 November 2007 | Casting Call for The Circle ::

Beyond Dreams Productions is preparing for a new feature length narrative film production directed by Emirati film director Nawaf Al-Janahi, entitled "The Circle". The production is currently seeking actors for some of the main characters. Experienced actors are preferred, however, talented new faces are required as well.

Roles Required

- Ibraheem, 30-35, a writer, has an idealistic mentality, and a peaceful strong personality.

- Eman, 25-30, Ibraheem's wife, an artist, she has a unique innocent beauty.

- Al-Anood, 18-22, dark-skined, a college student, quiet and looks attractive.

Actor and film director Nawaf Al-Janahi is on the jury of the 2nd edition of Mini Film Festival (2007), which will take place in Dubai in November 2007.

Nawaf Al-Janahi is participating with new photographs in the "Colorful Cares" art exhibition organized by Dubai Cultural Council for Dubai Cares campaign. The exhibition will be held in Dubai Women's Association from 23 to 27 October 2007.

New screening for Nawaf Al-Janahi's Mirrors of Silence in the UAE. The film will be screened on Monday 22 October 2007 at Qanat Al Qasba theater in Sharjah, as part of the 1st edition of the Gulf Cultural Festival, which will be held in Sharjah from 21 to 26 October 2007.

:: 5 October 2007 | Mirrors of Silence in Amal Film Festival in Spain ::

After its screenings recently in Jordan, Italy, Russia, Nawaf Al-Janahi's Mirrors of Silence will be screened for the first time in Spain, as it was selected in the official competition of the 5th edition of Amal International Euro-Arab Film Festival, which will be held in the city of Santiago de Compostela from 22 to 31 October 2007. Mirrors of Silence is about a problem that many people face in the contemporary civilized society - the pain of loneliness in the modern city, and it questions the possibility of breaking such agony surrounded by blocks of cement. The film is full of photographic images and offers great music, what makes it a different visual and spiritual experience. The film has participated previously in various international film festivals, and was the only Emirati film screened in the Muhr Awards for Excellency (the official short film competition) at Dubai International Film Festival (2006), which selects only 10 Arab short films from around the world to compete for this section's awards.

Mirrors of Silence will be screened in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the first time, as part of the official program of the 2nd edition of Al-Sawari International Film Festival, held from 20 to 26 May 2007.

Invited by Emirates Fine Arts Society, Nawaf Al-Janahi’s On a Road is part of its 26th General Annual Exhibition, which is held at the Sharjah Art Museum, concurrent with the 8th Sharjah Biennale lasting for two months from 4 April till 4 June 2007.

Visitors can watch the film daily during the whole period of the Biennale in the film's private showroom, from 9am to 9pm (on Fridays from 3pm to 9pm). Free admission.
