"I made this film in 98 as a project for my directing class. It was the first time that I get a hold of a real film camera, not a video camera. That of course got me into some mistakes.

The importance of this film to me is that it was an edit-in-the-camera assignment, which means that you get to shoot each and every shot only once. The planning of the whole film must be precise, and the decision of composition and the the length of every single shot has to be final before the actual shooting.

I shot some photos (right) to help me pre-visualize a double-movement I planned in one of the scenes. I wanted the character to move from the bed to kitchen, at the same time, in one shot, the camera also moves crossing the line of the path of the character to finally reframe the shot to show the date on the calendar on the wall."
